Seto is based upon a historical person, Yasuke, who was an African bodyguard to an Italian Jesuit Alessandro Valignano in a mission trip to Japan from 1579-1582 (no one is certain about what part of Africa he came from as no records were kept of his early years). Yasuke would later become a retainer to Lord Nobunaga and eventually a Samurai. The account of his service is included in the 1582 annual report of the Jesuit mission in Japan as well as a few other extant letters.
Favorite treats include fruit especially blueberries and grapefruit and meat treats (like savory jerky). His Majesty also appreciates any variety of smoked salmon - lox, cold smoked, or hot smoked.
His Majesty hates caramel corn, scratchy cloth, and generally prefers tea to coffee.
In keeping with his great-grandparents' tradition of bestowing rings to those he finds favor with, King Seto would be grateful for any donations of rings for largesse. All sizes and styles are appreciated.
Ynes de Jaen
Ynes is a Christian living within the province of Granada. The Nasrid rulers and dominant culture were that of the caliphate, however, both Jews and Christians were allowed to continue in their religions as long as they paid taxes and were otherwise loyal subjects. The 14th century is when the Alhambra, the magnificent palace of the final caliphate in Al-Andalus was built.
Her Majesty loves pickled treats of all kinds and prefers savory to sweet treats.
Her Majesty dislikes most cheese and hates mayonnaise. She does not eat a lot of red meat but will eat meat sporadically and especially if it is in smaller pieces like kebabs or salami.
